In an unsurprising development, Adele's 21 is the number one album in the country, yet again, selling 120,000 copies for its 19th week at number one since it was released 50 weeks ago. Adele's total sales have eclipsed 6.4 million, and should go up after her likely Grammy wins this weekend. Also of note: She's just one week shy of tying Whitney Houston's Bodyguard soundtrack's stretch of 20 weeks at number one.
Elsewhere on the charts, Lana Del Rey, who you may have heard of from the Internet a million times in the last week, has the number two album in the country, moving an impressive 75,000 in sales, considering the noxious buzz around her. Apparently the general public doesn't care about what mean websites write about singer songwriters?
Leonard Cohen's comeback album, Old Ideas, is the number three album in the country, moving 38,000 copies in its first week. Check out other chart news over here.
