Adele's 21 is still selling like gangbusters in the U.S., but it's setting serious sales records in the U.K., namely, that its broken Madonna's record for most consecutive weeks at number one for a female artist. That's right: Adele has more chart dominance than Madonna in the U.K. And what's crazier is that Adele's first album, 19, is at number two on the British charts, which means Adele is the most popular artist in the U.K. right now, AND the second most popular artist. 21 is also the first album in the history of U.K. charts to sell more than 100,000 copies in its first ten weeks. We'll see tomorrow if Adele can hold on to the big numbers in the U.S., with challengers like Wiz Khalifa entering the fray. [Billboard]
