Adele has just written a song for the Pussycat Dolls, which is novel for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that it gave us a reason to use the words “Adele” and “Pussycat Dolls” in the same sentence. Even more interestingly, she hasn’t even handed it off to the group yet, nor was she asked to write it by some record company type; this is Adele’s very own voluntary experiment in pop song writing. She can’t sing it herself, she says, because pop songs don’t agree with her more soulful voice.
Whether the song will ultimately make it into the hands of the Pussycat Dolls remains to be seen, but if it does, Adele imagines it’ll give the Dolls a chance to wear what they pretty much always do. And better them than her, it seems. In a recent interview she’s quoted as saying, “"I think it'll need bikinis in the video and I don't want to wear a bikini in a video."
