Adele Says Sarah Palin Made Her Famous in the U.S.

Adele says Sarah Palin made her famous in America, which is kind of weird, but mostly because of Adele’s timing – what with this being a rare period when Sarah Palin might actually be grateful for a “thank you” from an unexpected source. The British singer told UK magazine Attitude that appearing on the same Saturday Night Live episode as Palin pretty much helped her find an American audience.

“Sarah Palin made my career by coming on that show,” Adele said, a reference to the huge number of viewers Palin’s presence helped attract to the show and, unwittingly, Adele’s performance in it. As a kicker, Adele mentioned that she inadvertently confused Sarah Palin with Tina Fey (she could only see her from the back) and that when Palin stopped by her dressing room, it was clear she was rooting for the other team:

“Sarah Palin asked to come and meet me, and my gays were in the room, saying, "If she comes in, I'm leaving." She cornered me and said hello. And I had a massive Obama badge on my tit."

Sarah Palin, reportedly, recovered quite well from this incident.

Adele’s new album, titled Rolling in the Deep, comes out later this month. [Spinner]
