2011 will undoubtedly be Adele's year when it comes to album sales--21 has already sold close to three million copies--but it hasn't been her year when it comes to her tour dates, and her health. Earlier this year, Adele was diagnosed with a hemorrhage near her vocal cords, and was hoping that rest was going to repair everything. However, her record label Columbia has announced that she is cancelling all of her scheduled tour dates and publicity dates for the rest of 2011, as she is going to undergo surgery on her vocal cords. There's no word on when to expect Adele back in rotation, but I'm betting she makes an appearance at the Grammys in February, at the least. [DS]
