Last week, reports went around that said that American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert was joining Queen full-time, replacing deceased singer Freddie Mercury, and recent frontman Paul Rodgers, and that the band was planning to tour. It was news that sort of made sense–Lambert had played with Queen on Idol, and has done a few performances with them since–but it would still be weird.
However, it turns out that isn’t happening, at least not yet. Lambert was quoted in a story saying he could never hope to replace Mercury, but it turns out those quotes were about the European Music Awards, not about a reunion tour. For now, there’s no Queen reunion with Lambert. [NME]
