System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadijan has joined forces with RZA, Kinetic 9 (aka Beretta 9 from Killarmy), and Reverend William Burke to form the group Achozen. A self-titled album will be released in the summer on Shavo’s digital label, urSESSION. Shavo created the bulk of the production, with beats supplied by the RZA as well as vocals and lyrics handled by Kinetic 9 and Reverend William Burke. Achozen describes its unique sound as a new genre of “heavy hip-hop.” Guest performers on the album include George Clinton, John Frusciante, and Killah Priest. The first single “Deuces” will make its online premier on urSession.com on April 22.
