Jimmy Fallon has had one of the more interesting careers of recent Saturday Night Live alums. After stumbling initially in his attempts to become a movie star, he gets The Roots and a crack team of writers and regroups in late night television. And now, though it’s not the Taxi sequel that would be his ultimate vindication, the film industry might come knocking at his door for a favor. After a couple of lackluster Oscar broadcasts, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is thought to be looking at Fallon as a prospective host. While this might not sit well with broadcasting network ABC, who is heavily invested in Jimmy Kimmel, the combination of Fallon hosting and Lorne Michaels producing could be too good to pass up.
