Thank the lord! L.A. death metal band Abysmal Dawn has secured Mike Cosio (formerly of another terrific L.A. death metal band, Grave Desecration) to fill the band's vacant bass spot. As anyone who attended last weekend's Los Angeles Murderfest I can attest, Cosio fits right into Abysmal Dawn's sickly symphony of metallic slaughter, making one of the city's best straightahead death bands even better. AD is hard at work writing their followup to last year's From Ashes, and is scheduled to open for black metal legends Emperor on June 3rd at the Key Club in Hollywood.
