Indie label Absolutely Kosher, home of some Prefix favorites such as Frog Eyes, Sunset Rubdown and the Wrens, has just announced a serious investment in some local Brooklyn musicians. Three bands from everyone'''s favorite borough have just been signed to the Emeryville, CA based label. +/-, which features ex-Versus members James Balyut and Patrick Ramos, has been snatched up from their former home at Teenbeat. Singer/songwriter Chris Garneau, who was brought to the label's attention to by none other then Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart, will now call Kosher home. And finally the much buzzed the Affair have signed with the label. Garneau's Music for Tourists and the Affair's Yes Yes to You will both be released on January 23rd. And lucky you if you're doing the CMJ thing, you can look for all three acts at this year's Absolutely Kosher showcase at R&R on Wednesday. Enjoy the line.
