You know those stupid clips on the nightly news were the newscasters chase after someone for the purpose of “being on your side?” You know, the ones where the newscasters tear down a restaurant owner for owing back taxes or a chiropractor for charging a lot of money for appointments.
Well, the ABC News affiliate in Chelsea, NY did one of those segments this week where the hunt Pras (of the Fugees, which they mention as much as possible) for not paying a recording studio fee of $18,000. The newsperson closes in on Pras, and confronts him at a university before demanding he pay the guy back.
It's pretty stupid that that local news station would act as a debt collector and confront Pras on his way to that event. An event that was about helping the homeless and screened Pras's movie about him living on Skid Row for nine days. They could've picked a better place. maybe one where he isn't there for charitable work. come on, ABC.
