Abby Elliott Is Leaving ‘SNL’ Cast After This Season

After four seasons as a Saturday Night Live, Abby Elliott has confirmed she is not returning to the cast, according to Splitsider. Her father, Chris Elliott, was a cast member for the 1994-1995 season of SNL, making her the first second-generation cast member of the series. Elliott joins season 37’s exodus of cast members along with Kristen Wiig and Andy Samburg. Jason Sudekis is also rumored to be leaving, stating that he would need more creative opportunities to stay in the cast.

Elliott performed several celebrity impersonations on the long-running sketch comedy show, including Angelina Jolie, Katy Perry, Khloé Kardashian and Brittany Murphy. She recently broke out into film roles in No Strings Attached and Upright Citizens Brigade creator Matt Walsh’s High Road, as well as creating and starring in The Assistant for SNL producer Lorne Michaels’ viral video venture, Above Average.
