While many spent the past week fondly reminiscing about and celebrating the life of Michael Jackson, who passed away two years ago Sunday, Aaron Carter had other plans. Carter, a one-time teen pop sensation and brother of Backstreet Boy Nick, chose this week to go public with allegations that Jackson illegally gave him cocaine and wine when the two met nearly a decage ago. Carter, who was 15 at the time, says, "I did things with him that nobody else did, but I was also troubled about what he did to me." The veracity of Carter's allegations is, of course, in question, and the timing of the announcement is dubious at best. [NME]
Update: A representative speaking on behalf of Aaron Carter claims that the entire story is a fabrication, that "nothing was said that was reported." Journalist Daphne Barak is the author of the article, which ran in Australia's OK! Magazine. She attributed the following quote to Carter: "Yes, [MJ] gave me wine. I mean, I could have refused, but I was 15. As for drugs? He gave me cocaine." Carter's rep cites a heavily edited Youtube video of the Barak interview as evidence that the exchange never happened."
Lie on me once, shame on you.
Lie on me twice, shame on me for ever thinking you could change.
I see you AC, I even know you. And I know this is a hustle. Lets see if it works ....
