A Year's Worth Of Pop, As One Song

A Year's Worth Of Pop, As One Song

Either this is the most depressing thing ever, or it's a glorious sugar-high: a overstuffed mash-up of nearly every pop hit over the past year. We start off slow with a little of Rhianna's "We Found Love" before seguing into hits by Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, LMFAO, Flo Rida, Maroon 5, Coldplay, and more.

The awesome/depressing thing is this mash-up sounds minimally processed. Almost all of these hits have that same "four-on-the-floor" dance sound that's all the rage these days, and certainly many of the songs share a few co-writers. It's hardly worth the critical hand-wringing, though. Nearly every pop era has a bunch of chart-toppers that sound tangentially related because, well, there's a reason why these are all hits. Give the people what they want, etc.

Also, making Adam Levine sound Satanic is pretty hilarious. Take a listen to the fist-pumping mess below. [Buzz Feed]
