A Winged Victory For The Sullen (Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie of Stars of the Lid and Dustin O'Halloran) have shared the track "Atomos VI" from their upcoming second studio record Atomos. The duo previewed the album earlier this year with their Atomos VII EP, which will be expanded upon here.
The album emerged from an unexpected collaboration with Wayne McGregor, founder of Random Dance Company and resident choreographer at the Royal Ballet. McGregor played AWVFTS for his dancers during some rehearsals and liked the results. He contacted the duo to see if they would score a new work of his and from the duo's work on the project emerged a brand new studio recording from AWVFTS.
The duo recorded for four months in 2013 in Reykjavik, Brussels, and Berlin, expanding their sonic pallette for the album to include electronics, harp, modular synthesisers, according to their site.
Take a listen to "Atomos VI" below.
