When it comes to time management, 9th Wonder must be using cheat codes or something. Not only releasing the epic 40-track instrumental tape, Tutankhamen (Valley of the Kings), back in May, outsourcing high quality beats to the likes of Talib Kweli, Skyzoo and Lecrae, and running his Jamla label, which houses artists such as Rapsody, Big Remo and Sean Boog, the revered hip-hop-soul producer has also found time this year to craft full-length projects with two familiar faces, Buckshot and Murs.
Today, 9th has shared both the titles and release dates for these two records. His collaboration with Boot Camp Clik/Black Moon rep Buckshot, The Solution, will hit stores on Nov. 13 via Jamla/Duck Down, while The Final Adventure, his joint effort with veteran West Coast MC Murs, will also arrive on Nov. 13 via IWWMG/Traffic Entertainment/KGMG.
"I think this is the best way to take two separate brands, one I have built with Murs and one that I have built with Buckshot, and not only expose both audiences to each other, but to take those two audiences together with the sounds that I built with the artists, and expose that to the world," said 9th in the announement video below. "This is a great day for myself, Murs and Buckshot, because we make the music we believe in for the people who believe in it."
9th has previously worked with Buckshot in 2005 for Chemistry, and again in '08 for The Formula, while he and Murs have four projects under their collective belt: Murs 3:16: The 9th Wonder Edition (2004), Murray's Revenge (2006), Sweet Lord (2008) and Fornever (2010).
