Slap on your (insert cliche '80s fashion accessory here), dust off your (insert anachronistic '80s tech item here), and get your Reagan-era rock (or pop, as the case may be) on with this summer's Regeneration tour. Okay, the "rock" part is stretching it a little bit. The '80s oldies/nostalgia event that crosses America for the entire month of August features the synth-pop finery of the Human League and Naked Eyes, the glossy, post-Go-Go's, sleek-pop chanteuserie of Belinda Carlisle, and the haircut harmony of ABC and A Flock of Seagulls for most of the shows.
A disappoingingly small number of dates will cater to the more rock-ready power-pop enthusiasts out there by including Tommy Tutone and The Romantics on the bill. A little more girl power will hit the lineup for a few gigs with the addition of 10,000 Maniacs and Missing Persons, but not as much as there would have been if Dead or Alive hadn't cancelled out due to "health reasons."
