On Nov. 10, Columbia and Legacy will release perhaps the definitive Miles Davis boxset, The Complete Columbia Album Collection, a 71-disc set that includes all 52 albums Davis recorded for Columbia (which translates to 70 CDs), and a DVD of Live in Europe, seeing release for the first time. The CDs will come packaged in mini-LP jackets (label slang for wasteful packaging) and the set comes with a 250-page book about Davis.
So how much will the set run for? A recession-friendly $369.68, or around $5 a disc. It will be exclusively available through Amazon, so don't expect to find it at Wal-Mart. [Pitchfork]
