There was an outrage over Jay-Z announcing a huge SXSW show for American Express cardholders earlier this week, so I imagine people who long for the pre-corporate, super-indie version of SXSW won't like this either. Eminem has announced the Shady Records showcase, and along with performances by Big K.R.I.T., ScHoolboy Q, Action Bronson, Don Trip, S.T.S., Yelawolf, and Slaugherhouse, the Shady Records show will feature 50 Cent performing the entirety of Get Rich or Die Tryin'. That's pretty much what everyone has wanted out of 50 for some time: him just doing his old album, not making new material.
But will people turn out to watch a bunch of great young rappers open for a rapper doing a 10-year-old album? We'll find out on March 16, when the show goes down at Austin Music Hall. [RapRadar]
