It was rumored last summer that 50 Cent had shelved Black Magic, his planned fifth proper album. But news surrounding the project, which aimed to infuse his tunes with rock and techno influences, basically halted for the next few months. Fifty broke the silence the other day, though, when he explained in an interview that the album is indeed shelved permanently. HipHopDX has the following quote from his discussion with Red Bulletin magazine:
“I moved ‘Black Magic’, because it’s a total artist’s album. It was something that I just wanted to do, so I went in and recreationally made a full-bodied piece of work," said the Queens emcee to Red Bulletin magazine.
...
“I gave myself a new concept, so now it’s in the vault."
While new music from 50 is always intriguing, this news isn't terribly surprising. He's too busy messing with his stocks and selling headphones anyway.
