50 Cent Is Music's Version Of Lebron James Now, Apparently

It seems like you can't even read anything on the Internet without some passing reference to Lebron James lately. But apparently* there's another big free agent story floating around, namely that 50 Cent, who has only a greatest hits package left on his contract with Interscope, is looking to leave Shady Aftermath with his G-Unit goons Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks in tow (Yayo and Banks have been on indies for a few years now).

The problem is that none of the reports are actually coming from 50 himself: Instead, a promotions director from Capitol, named Craig Davis, told some YouTube reporter about how Capitol had paid 50 a bunch of money to join the label, and Lloyd Banks would be releasing the first Capitol-released G-Unit album. I'd have a hard time believing 50 would really bail on the Dre-Eminem team just because he's "unhappy." But, if 50 is really leaving the label, it would be interesting to see if maybe 50 could flourish if he wasn't being promoted by Interscope anymore. Maybe his sales problems are due to him being packaged as the same guy he was in 2003. [Miss Info

*- No, not really. Probably not, at least.
