Contest: Predict the sales of Curtis

After weeks of back and forth, Kanye and 50 Cent's new albums finally go head to head this week. While many music fans state that they couldn't care less, I do think their album sales will be a major indicator of where the music industry is and where it could be going. How will two of hip-hop's biggest albums sell during a tough year for hip-hop sales? Also, a few years ago the idea that a rapper such as Kanye could even come close to outselling a street-cred rapper of 50's stature was ludicrous. Times have changed. We'll see how much this week.
Take a guess at where Curtis will end up on the charts along with the number of albums he will sell (the latter will be the tie-breaker). Winner gets the $20 gift certificate to Amazon.
Contest:

  • Predict in the comments where 50 Cent's new album, Curtis, will chart, as well as how many copies will sell during the first week.

  • Predictions after Saturday (September 15, 2007 will be disqualified)

Prize:

  • $20 gift certificate to Amazon.com

Other major releases include new efforts from Animal Collective, Black Elephant (Prince Paul), Black Lips, Dirty Projectors, Go! Team and Qui. Check out Prefix's Week in Preview to read the previews.
Additional Notes:
*Check out the Week in Preview feature to see what else was released.
**Whoever is closest to actual sales figures from Soundscan. No Price Is Right rules in effect (i.e. you can still win if your guess is over the actual sales figures.)
***This contest is open to everyone, including Prefix staffers.
