30 Minutes Of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Deleted Scenes Rumored For Blu-ray

Fans who want more of The Dark Knight Rises might have their wishes granted, as it is rumored that a half-hour of deleted scenes will be included on the Blu-ray release of the blockbuster film.

Digital Trends noted that the included scenes may be focused on the origin of the film’s super-villain Bane. The rumor has been circulating around the Internet, but there has been no official confirmation from Warner Bros to back the claim. The deleted scenes may also be reinserted into the film, creating an “extended cut” similar to the treatment given to The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The footage was likely cut from the film to help shorten the already long runtime. Also, director Christopher Nolan wanted the film released in IMAX 70mm prints and the large size of those film prints would have prohibited an additional 30 minutes of footage. However, this limitation does not exist for digital formats like Blu-ray.
