2012 Olympics Playlist Leaked

Famed Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting director Danny Boyle will be handling the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics, taking place on July 27 in London. He’s no slouch when it comes to picking music for his iconic movies, and a recently-leaked document proves Boyle is also taking his chances with the opening ceremony’s soundtrack.

On the list are the usual British suspects–both old and new–from the Beatles and David Bowie to Muse and Oasis, but one selection in particular is raising eyebrows: the Sex Pistols’ anti-monarchist anthem “God Save The Queen.” Of course, Her Majesty will be at the opening ceremony just a month after her spectacular diamond jubilee celebration, so some choice reaction shots will be anticipated as Johnny Rotten spits out “God save the Queen, she ain’t no human being / There’s no future in England’s dreaming.” Check out the full list of songs below.
