The Floor is for suckas: SanDisk coverage

We nearly got trampled getting into the SanDisk press conference--and didn't even score the flash player they were giving away.
SanDisk announced their Sansa Connect, a player similar to their e200 series but looking a little bulkier and sporting wi-fi. The wireless connection will allow for access to service sites wherever there's an open access point--no word on what services (Rhapsody perhaps?), but we'll try to score the information. It will also allow you to stream Internet radio stations. A 4-gig model will be available in late March for $249.99.
Sansa will also introduce an 8-gig video player called the View with a four-inch widescreen display in the first quarter of the year.

The Connect uses technology from Zing, a company that allows for community sharing and downloading over wireless connections. The “Zune orphan” factor that happens when a Zune user seeks out a fellow Zune user won’t be the case with the Connect; it can search over the Internet for fellow users. Assuming they use a similar subscription service, they can download a track you recommend without any of the “3 days or 3 plays” restrictions of the Zune. The Sansa Connect also has an external speaker, for what it’s worth. [...]
