Just a few days before his new album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music drops, Georgia rapper 2 Chainz stopped by Power 106 on The L.A. Leakers show. Keeping with tradition, a freestyle was requested of the artist, and 2 Chainz delivered. He spit bars over Kendrick Lamar’s standout track, “DNA.” from the excellent new album, DAMN.
The radio hosts applied the pressure with some serious hype, prefacing 2 Chainz’ freestyle by saying, “If we were on the court, this is like that Steph Curry, that Kobe. It’s like watching M.J., Lebron.” As the bass-heavy Mike WiLL Made-It beat drops, 2 Chainz starts off by saying, “Let me give some of the love back.” He goes on to promote his upcoming album with many of the same cadences K.dot used on the track. “Man, I got so many demons, please don’t make me demonstrate / I know trappers, rappers, actors got the phantom for the mansion,” he spits with a vicious, swaggy flow. Throughout the freestyle, he repeats the album’s release date: June 16th. He finishes by paying respect for the original artist, saying, ““Shout out to Kendrick. He the illest one doing it in the game.”
In preparation of Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, 2 Chainz has also unveiled a virtual reality experience called “Trap House.” The animated experience looks like an old video game, and it allows you to click on different objects in the “Trap House” that take you through different experiences. And in case you want to see even more of 2 Chainz’s world, he’s also selling virtual reality goggles.
2 Chainz recently shared the single, “4 AM,” featuring Travis Scott, which will be featured on his forthcoming new record. The tracklist boasts additional features from the likes of Drake to Gucci Mane to Pharrell to Nicki Minaj. You can pre-order Pretty Girls Like Trap Music here.
