Morrissey collapsed on stage at a show in Bournemouth in England on Saturday (Oct. 24). The former Smiths singer was apparently having breathing difficulties as he began the concert, which opened with a version of “This Charming Man.” He was subsequently rushed to a local hospital.
Morrissey was kept at the hospital overnight and discharged the next day, saying it was just a “precautionary measure” and he was now “much improved.” A statement was also issued: “Morrissey is in stable condition after his collapse in Swindon Saturday night. Thanks go out to all his well wishers, more information will be posted as soon as it is available.”
The rest of Morrissey’s U.K. tour now looks in doubt, with a date tonight (Oct. 26) already canceled. No firm decision has been made on the other dates, and the canceled shows are expected to be rescheduled as long as Morrissey isn’t “Still Ill.”
