Moogfest Announces Initial Lineup

Trumpeted as a “musical voyage into the fourth dimension,” the second annual Moogfest commemorating the late Moog synthesizer innovator, Robert “Bob” Moog, has announced an initial lineup showcasing a diverse array of acts.

The bill is set include bands ranging from The Flaming Lips to Crystal Castles.

The event will descend on Moog’s past North Carolina stopping grounds of Ashville where he taught as Research Professor of Music at University of North Carolina. The fest is slated to kick off on Friday, Oct. 28 and run though Sunday, Oct. 30.

Downtown venues to host the event include Ashville Civic Center and its Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, as well as the historic Orange Peel Social & Pleasure Club, which claims a rich history of acts from The Commodores to Bob Dylan.

Weekend passes will be sold starting June 4 at noon EST and can be purchased at www.moogfest.com.

Moogfest will also offer art exhibits and the opportunity for attendees to try their hand at Moog instruments.
