Zo!: '...Just Visiting Three' (Covers EP)
Producer/multi-instrumentalist Zo!, who you might know as a part of the Foreign Exchange collective, returns with the third entry in his covers series. ...just visiting three is the follow-up to 2009's very good ...just visiting too and it features some of the same vocalists appearing to take on their favorite tracks.
The EP gets off to an amazing start with Phonte and Sy Smith tackling Steely Dan's "Black Cow," which Zo! handles with ease. Elsewhere, Zo! lays down the groove from George Michael's "Everything She Wants" while Phonte plays the frustrated lover-man. Zo! and company also cover Eric Tagg's "Marzipan," Everything But the Girl's "Driving," and Anita Baker's "Same Ole Love." This is baby-making music, y'all, so use it accordingly.
