It's been a while since Young Buck was a household name. Things kind of went downhill for the Nashville rapper once he left G-Unit back in 2007, and hearing his name today is a blast from the past. His third album, The Rehab, which he predicted would sell a million copies in its first week, dropped with relatively little fanfare earlier this year, and album sales were disappointing, to say the least.
As this song from a new mixtape announces, though, he wants to change all that. With a video that looks like the title credits to a mid-'90s cop drama, "Came Back" isn't exactly breaking any new ground. But Buck first rose to prominence because he was a skillful rapper who knew how to play to his strengths, and here he again displays his ability to spin dark rhymes out of the everyday struggle.
