Without question, one of the more disappointing releases of 2011 came just 15 days ago when YelaWolf dropped his major label debut, Radioactive. It too often found the Gadsden, Ala. native trying to find a middle-ground between his trap music roots and a more radio-friendly sound that, at times, fell terribly flat. One of the few instances where it kind of works is the Kid Rock-assisted "Let's Roll." Yes, the hook is huge and tailor-made for stadiums, but Yela still spits like, well, Yela, something he showcased during his performance of the track on Conan last night.
Kid Rock obviously wasn't going to make it out for the gig, but Yela was able to wrangle Travis Barker to man/pummel the kit while some dude filled in on vocals. It's not bad, but I can't help but wish we were seeing "Billy Crystal" or "Good to Go" performed instead. Watch the performance below. [MWP]
