Yeasayer: "Ambling Alp" (Video)

Initial word on Yeasayer’s forthcoming Odd Blood is that it’s much poppier than their debut, although they are unlikely to court pop kids with this video for “Ambling Alp.” The track has been given an appropriately strange video by director Radical Friend, the joint name shared by filmmakers Kirby McClure and Julia Grigorian.

The clip resembles a ‘70s prog rock album sleeve, and is full of goo, faces in the clouds, masked figures, and other weirdness. The suddenly disembodied heads are somewhat reminiscent of low budget ‘80s cult schlock-horror movie From Beyond, while the overall feel is reminiscent of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s masterful The Holy Mountain.
