Yak Ballz: "Mixtape"
Just to clarify, this track is called "Mixtape" and it's not a new mixtape from Yak Ballz. It's actually the second cut off the rapper's Gas Galaxy, an album that is coming together piece by piece through monthly releases such as this. Like the previous cut, "DSMU," this one is littered with space-y vibes thanks to the grimy synthesizers scattered across Chapter 7's beat. The drums are pretty huge on "Mixtape," too, and Yak is again telling a story throughout the lyrics. I'm guessing everything will truly make sense story-wise once we get the entirety of Gas Galaxy, though it's sounding great so far.
