In the latest installment of the AV Club's "Undercover" series, Baltimore duo Wye Oak tackle Danzig's classic single "Mother," turning the sultry rocker into a slow-burning torch song, complete with mid-song noise freakout, and of course, accompaniment from a guy playing the tenor horn. It's a pretty solid cover, and also acts as a chance to show off Andy Stack's ability to play drums and keyboard at the same time to those who haven't had the chance to see the band yet.
Wye Oak's Civilian is out now.
This is one of the more awesome ongoing music-related series out there.
Yeah it's a great series. Wish we thought of it.
