Although we justreported on rumors of a new Wu-Tang Clan being in the works, "Laced Cheeba" is not related to that news. The song actually stems from their forthcoming Legendary Weapons compilation, which we heard from last month via RZA's "Only the Rugged Survive."
It might not be an official new Wu record, per se, but these leaks and all of the players involved have our hopes for another sleeper hit in the vein of 2009's Chamber Music. Like that release, Legendary Weapons is produced by Brooklyn band the Revelations, Noah Rubin, and Fizzy Womack, among others. Also, RZA is overseeing the whole thing, so at least we'll know who to blame if the project doesn't live up to expectations.
Stream "Laced Cheeba," which is pretty fucking great, below. Legendary Weapons drops July 26.
