A series of bands, including Abe Vigoda and Vivian Girls, are playing free shows at the Whitney Museum in New York this summer. Last Friday (July 24) was Woods’ turn to shine at the makeshift venue, and filmmaker Ray Concepcion was on hand to provide this beautiful video of the event.
This clip is far beyond the usual performance video; it was shot in one continuous take in subdued colors, providing a perfect visual counterpart to the band’s subtle melancholia. “The architecture inspired me to try different things,” says Concepcion, who has a number of other clips available at this Vimeo page.
