Wolf People: "October Fires" (MP3)

The first U.K. signing of Jagjaguwar, Wolf People have a collection of early recordings entitled Tiding coming out in February. "October Fires" is one of the tracks off that disc, a modest and bluesy rock and roll number that channels classic radio rock while still sounding fresh and interesting. The track pushes forward on a funk-inflected bassline, jittery drums, and occasional harmonica antics, unhurriedly moving towards an understated backwards guitar-led finish. [CatBirdSeat]
