So, Wolf Parade broke their "hiatus" this weekend to play a show at Sasquatch Fest, and then play a headlining show in Vancouver. But apparently, according to reports, the shows weren't the breaking of a hiatus: They were the real sendoff for the band, who are done for good, allegedly. This final song from their encore in Vancouver certainly has the feeling of a swan song: The group covered "Knocking on Heaven's Door," and had the audience join them onstage. And in between, Dan Boeckner says stuff like "in six years, we haven't learned anything." Is this the end? I hope not. But it would be fine for the band to go out on semi-top: Three good-to-great albums, and side projects headed in the right direction. [Aux]
