Wilco: Wilco the Song (Live on the Colbert Report) (Video)
Jeff Tweedy stopped by The COlber Report last night, ostensibly to promote Wilco, but mostly to talk up his boy, Barack Obama. After a quickie interview where Colbert does his best to coax some energy out of Tweedy (“I’ll try to match your energy. I think my heart just stopped.”), Wilco played “Wilco the Song” (like Joe the Plumber). “Wilco” is a decently rocking boogie-woogie song, and it’s about the economic problems and Wilco, and has a Stephen Colbert reference. This is the feel good song of the year. I don't think it's narcissistic at all. But then again, I can see the irony.. if you need Wilco to love you, things must really be in a bad way...
