Whitney Houston

"I Look to You" (MP3)

Average Rating: 10.00

The long-awaited new Whitney Houston single has been previewed on Atlanta's V103 radio.

The piano-driven ballad, which was composed by R Kelly and co-produced with Harvey Mason, Jr., sounds an awful lot like the old school R&B ballads Houston was doing twenty or so years ago. It's pleasant, but nothing groundbreaking and sounds as if Houston and company wanted to test the waters and make sure the world was ready to hear her again.

The really good news is that her voice sounds like it's help up -- although she doesn't really let loose and wail. Maybe she will on her forthcoming CD, due out Sept. 1 on Arista and titled after the aforementioned ballad.
