White Lies: "Strangers"(Holy Other Remix)
UK post-punk revivalists White Lies are pretty derivative, even for a band working in a genre with the word "revival" attached to it, but that just makes Berlin by-way-of Manchester producer Holy Other's otherworldly remix of their track "Strangers" even more arresting.
Like White Ring or How To Dress Well, Holy Other (who previously remixed Asobi Seksu) makes music that's so full of existential despair that slapping a "witch house" or "Alt 'n B" tag on it seems like a real slight.
Though Holy Other shares some textural and emotional territory with those artists, he separates himself with a disquieting, violent urgency in his beats. For more, check out a video for his track "YR Love" (deemed 2010's "most haunted track by GvsB).
