We often forget here in the U.S. that there are numerous bands from our country that have devoted followings overseas but get little recognition here. That doesn't happen with many other countries. White Denim may be one of the stranger bands to be given this label, as they are tied to deeply American state of Texas, both in terms of their home state and their breakthrough at this year's SXSW. White Denim's debut LP Workout Holiday was released in the U.K. back in June, and the British press couldn't help themselves from gushing all over it. gorillavsbear has gotten their hands on "Sitting," the closing track off their upcoming American LP Explosion, and it's enough to make all the hype seem justified.

A track that is both off-kilter and country-rock, earnest, but with more than a little sense of humor, and a progression that shows off significant songwriting skills, "Sitting" is exactly the kind of track that music critics love, and especially British critics. According to reviews, it's not even the best track on the album. I guess we'll have to hear the rest for ourselves. Explosion hits the states in November on Austin's Transmission label.
