“Well Well Well Dub”

When she’s not busy starting feuds with Lady Gaga, Grace Jones is still occasionally getting down to the business of making music. Her 2008 LP Hurricane was a decent addition to her catalog, with Jones finding her feet once again after a 19-year gap between releases. Collaborators including Sly & Robbie, Tricky and Brian Eno helped shape the original version of Hurricane, but producer Ivor Guest is thought to have been the central driving force behind the direction the record took. Now Guest has worked on a dub overhaul of the entire album, which will be released as a 2-CD set along with the original version of Hurricane on Sept. 5. You can hear a preview of that via “Well Well Well Dub” below, which sounds like it’s edging close to the classic “Private Life” sound Jones dabbled in on her 1980 album Warm Leatherette. [via FACT]
