The editing on this clip is enough to scare anyone away at first--headache-inducing overlays and seemingly random cuts from multiple angles. It's also kind of embarrassing how much the crowd is digging this cover, which is about half as embarrassing as Rivers' broken marionette style of dancing. Musically, however, Weezer do a pretty good job of avoiding what could have been a disastrous and hackneyed combination of two of the most ubiquitous songs of the year. They play a respectable rendition of MGMT's "Kids," and then segue into a version of Lady Gaga's "Pokerface" that is at least twice as listenable as the original. Still not great, but this is the most entertaining thing that Weezer has done since 2001. [Stereogum]
dude he's clearly lip synching to a pre recorded track. watch closely. bummer.

the video and audio don't quite match up but it may not be lip synched... but ya, suspect... his vocals sound slightly autotuned, which i find even more disturbing.
Yeah, rivers wouldn't do that.
