Comedy contests, offers of Snuggies, and work with Lil Wayne didn’t save Weezer’s Raditude form receiving a critical mauling, but they’re still out there promoting it, with the latest valiant attempt at boosting sales coming in the form of this video for “I’m Your Daddy.”
It’s an on-the-road clip that shows how ker-azy Weezer’s fans are, and how witty and amusing the band members are when captured in intimate behind-the-scenes moments. Instrument smashing, crowd surfing, and even an outtake from that Snuggie video are all included.

Did anyone read the new(ish) Chuck Klosterman book, Eating the Dinosaur? In there, he makes the case that there was never any irony in Weezer, which is why, now that Rivers Cuomo is sort of happy and well-adjusted, their music sucks. When he was singing about being tired of sex, dating lesbians and a sweater, everyone could relate. Now that he's singing about living in Beverly Hills, everyone hates him. It sort of makes sense.
