
KEXP is a staple of the Pacific Northwest indie scene, notable for its work in helping launch the budding careers of a lot of alt-rock bands, specifically those in the early 90s grunge scene. It's totally appropriate then, to hear Wavves performing in-studio for them, given the overlap between the two sounds. Hell, "King of the Beach" would have been a staple in the station's rotation during that era, with its wall of buzzsaw guitars and buried but insatiable hooks.
