When most acts head to the BBC Radio 1 studios, we end up hearing either a live performance or a mix with some exclusives thrown in. Or, sometimes, you get to hear both. At least, that the case for Ernest Greene, aka Washed Out, and his recent Maida Vale session with Rob Da Bank. They played some new cuts from the likes of James Blake, Chad Valley, and Ghostface Killah and DOOM's DOOMSTARKS project. And then, they worked in Washed Out performing "Hold Out," "Eyes Be Closed," and "Soft" live in the Maida Vale studio. They also discuss his approach to playing live and how he aspires to record with DJ Shadow one day. Yeah, we can definitely co-sign that idea.
You can listen to the broadcast at BBC Radio 1. But move quickly; it ends in three days.
