Walls: "Into Our Midst (Reprise)"
The latest album by Walls on Kompakt is titled Coracle, which shows off the band’s knack for creating catchy, glitch-heavy dance tracks. There’s a new EP released by the group today, titled Into Our Midst, which pulls a track from Coracle and matches it with a remix and a new song titled “Idle Sway.” The remix, or “reprise,” of “Into Our Midst” is currently streaming online. Built around great swells of process machine noise, the song dips into the kind of hypnotic groove Walls has become highly adept at sculpting. This version doesn’t really go anywhere, instead choosing to simply cycle in place, locked frozen in a quiet groove reminiscent of a version of the Field with all the hard edges shaved off.
