Like a lot of his blog-hyped MC compatriots, most of Wale's songs are self-promoting boasts laced with pop culture references. But "Family Affair" is a different story; it's a narrative song about a pimp, his prostitute, and her son, delivered through each of their perspectives. The video is pretty literal, and it stars Anwan Glover from The Wire as the pimp. "Family Affair" is an achievement that puts Wale heads above the Asher Roths and Charles Hamiltons.
