Wale: Chllin (Video) f. Lady Gaga

Wale's "Chillin" just got a "this is my hood" video where Wale leads viewers around his neighborhood in D.C., and hangs with his friends (including Slim Charles!) in his old haunts. You have to wonder if M.I.A. was originally wanted for the hook (Wale mentions her and getting high like planes), but Lady Gaga was the only singer available (and Santigold was busy). I'm not really buying her as an effective hip-hop hook diva, but then again, she's of the moment right now. Although, I imagine having her on the hook will date the song like having Mya on the hook dates songs from the late-'90s.

Wale's anticipated Attention Deficit is due out this summer.
